We recently conducted a study of research sites across the country in an effort to further understand:
- The current processes related to reconciling payments at research sites
- The level of satisfaction at research sites around receivables
- The impact that reconciling payments from sponsors / CROs has on the site’s ability to conduct a clinical trial
The study polled 534 research sites, all of which indicated they had a responsibility in determining and reconciling receivables from a sponsor or CRO. The research sites included hospitals, universities and private practices; respondents included investigators, nurses, coordinators, operations and finance personnel, project managers, and researchers, among others.
A key take-away from the survey was the desire of sites for automation. The survey revealed that 85% of the sites would prefer to work with CROs or sponsors that automate their payment processes. Also exposed from the survey, was preferred payment frequency - 80% of sites prefer to be paid monthly vs. quarterly. The study further provided insights on payment visibility, speed and flexibility.
On May 11 at 2 pm we will be hosting a webinar with Christine Pierre, Founder and President of the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) will provide valuable insights regarding site satisfaction and how Sponsors and CROs can improve performance through better reimbursement and payment processes.
